Hana Rashid completed her BSc in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Habib University, Pakistan’s first liberal arts university, in 2023. She is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer, and her research interests lie in Human-Computer Interaction and AI. Hana explored these research areas as part of her undergraduate final year project, leading research to assess the possibility of computational diagnosis for learning difficulties in children using machine learning and handwriting analysis. The project’s findings were published in the ACM Interaction Design and Children Conference 2023, as a paper titled “DYSIGN: Towards Computational Screening of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia Based on Handwriting Quality”, and Hana was awarded the Gary Marsden Travel Award to present the findings in the conference in Chicago, USA. Hana is excited to continue exploring the field of HCI and AI, especially with emerging AR/VR technologies, and looks forward to furthering her work in these areas as part of ECL.
