Mai Mostafa is a student at Stanford University studying Symbolic Systems with a focus on human-computer interaction and education. Her work explores how interactive technologies, particularly related to extended reality and AI, can support collaborative learning and creativity. At the Empathic Computing Lab, she contributes to a project co-designing XR experiences to foster girls’ interest and self-efficacy in technology, using qualitative methods to analyze workshop and interview data. She is especially interested in designing systems that promote empathy, accessibility, and equitable community in digital spaces. Outside of research, she enjoys building playful, expressive tools and experiences that bring people together⋆｡°✩
