Joaquín Emir Salazar Peña is a Data Science student at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC), Peru, with a strong interest in computational data analysis. He has academic experience in developing projects related to machine learning, databases, optimization, applied statistics, and stochastic processes. As an intern collaborator at ECL, he will be working alongside Louise Lawrence on a project focused on the Conversational Analysis of Augmented Reality Collaborative Systems.

In 2022, he participated in the Leadership and Oratory Online Program (LOOP), delivered by Missouri State University and funded by the U.S. Embassy. During his first year of study, he was recognized on the Dean’s Honor List, ranking among the top 3 students in his program. In 2026, he was awarded the Fundación Educación Scholarship, a merit-based academic financial support scholarship granted by a Swiss foundation.
