Amit is a Research Fellow at the Empathic Computing Laboratory established within the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland. His areas of research include exploring the use of Brain Computer Interfaces in collaborative environments, and their design and development to meet the demands of mobile usage. In addition to this, Amit is also interested in the exploring the use of spatial audio feedback for enhanced information delivery, immersion and presence in virtual environments.
Amit earned his PhD from the HITLab NZ at the University of Canterbury in June 2018. His research explored the use of spatialised auditory and visual cues for effective information presentation in wearable interfaces. Amit also has extensive experience as a sound designer, having worked on a number of short films, theatre productions and corporate campaigns over the last decade.
